Project
„Development of the human resources of AB „Rokiškio sūris“ and UAB „Rokiškio pienas“
Stakeholder organization – AB „Rokiškio sūris“
Partner – UAB „Rokiškio pienas“

On April 15th, 2009 it was signed a trilateral agreement between the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, Support Foundation European Social Fund Agency and AB „Rokiškio sūris“ for the administration and support of the human resources development project.

The main target of the project is to enable a group of employees of AB „Rokiškio sūris“ and UAB „Rokiškio pienas“ to improve their essential competencies, helpful in implementation of the inno-vative technologies as well as their application in dairy processing sector. When Lithuania joined the European Union, new markets emerged, and moreover, the competition increased changing the overall understanding of the business. In the course of sound penetration of the Lithuanian prod-ucts into the EU countries, high level of human resources became one of the most valuable issues. Professionalism is essential for the successful business, and it conditions rapid increase of the demand in qualified employees. Variation of the quality requirements, and rapid obsolescence of market information create a lack of knowledge and needed skills for the employees. Subsequently AB „Rokiškio sūris“ and UAB „Rokiškio pienas“ seek to organize the courses of skill development to the company’s employees in order not to lag behind the innovations. The training will provide specific knowledge related with the functions and responsibilities of the employees.

The project is divided into two main sections: development of general and specific skills. In order to improve general knowledge, there have been formed five target groups: training of production managers, training of raw material procurement staff, training of export sales and logistics staff, effective management training, and training of finance management. The training to gain specific knowledge will be orientated towards specific production issues. The programme covers around one hundred employees and it will last three years.

The proper implementation of the project lays upon the project administration group and a consult-ing company. Having completed the financed project, the companies will further pay crucial attention to the development of skills and knowledge. It is planned to invest a part of funds into development of human resources, and to implement continuous training of staff in order to maintain best specialists in the company.
